Stark County Summer Guide.
Festivals, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement, hot air balloons, parks, trails, and a surprisingly vibrant food and arts scene — everything you need to know about summer in Canton, Massillon, and Stark County.
When people think of Northeast Ohio, they often picture Cleveland's lakefront or Medina's town square. But thirty minutes south, Stark County offers a summer experience that rivals anything in the region — anchored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a revitalized downtown Canton, incredible outdoor recreation, and some of the most authentic ethnic festivals in Ohio. If you haven't spent a summer day in Stark County, this is the year to change that.
The Big Events This Summer.
Stark County's summer event calendar is packed — from the Italian American Festival in mid-July to the Enshrinement of the Class of 2026 in early August. Here are the events worth putting on your calendar now.
Stark County Italian American Festival

The crown jewel of Canton's event calendar. The Class of 2026 — featuring Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri — will be enshrined in a ceremony at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The week includes the Hall of Fame Game (Panthers vs. Cardinals on August 6), the Grand Parade through downtown Canton on August 8, the Gold Jacket Dinner, and a Concert for Legends featuring Lainey Wilson on August 9.
Canton First Friday
A monthly street party in downtown Canton celebrating the arts, food, and community. Each First Friday features live music, food trucks, local vendors, and gallery openings throughout the Canton Arts District. July's theme celebrates America 250 — marking the nation's semiquincentennial with patriotic performances and special programming.

Why Stark County Is Worth a Second Look.
Summer in Stark County gives you a preview of what daily life here actually feels like — a community that values its history, invests in its parks and downtown, and knows how to throw a festival. But beyond the events, Stark County offers some of the most affordable homeownership in Northeast Ohio, with median home prices in Canton around $138K and a housing stock that ranges from historic Victorians to newer suburban developments.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame and its associated events drive national attention and tourism revenue, but it's the everyday quality of life that keeps people here — the Towpath Trail for weekend bike rides, Gervasi Vineyard for date nights, Hartville Marketplace for Saturday morning treasure hunting, and a downtown Canton that's genuinely coming alive with arts, food, and community energy.
For families relocating to Northeast Ohio, Stark County deserves serious consideration. It sits at the crossroads of I-77 and I-76, roughly 20 minutes from Akron and an hour from Cleveland, making it a practical base for anyone working across the region. And the value — both in housing and in lifestyle — is hard to beat.
If you're curious about what's available in Stark County right now, or if you'd like a tour of the communities that fit your family's needs, I'm happy to help. I've been working in this market for years, and there's more to discover here than most people realize.
